Being a company with deep roots in the Midwest, we knew very little about building and development in the area so we needed the right partner for the critical jobs of land surveying, environment work, and civil design.

A couple of years after opening our business exceeded our expectations and we needed to undertake a major expansion. Once again, it was the Burkes team that made it happen for us. We now have a fantastic facility of a little over 1 million square feet that was designed right, built right, and is ready for the future.

J.V. Burkes and Associates, Inc. is an established, multi-disciplined civil engineering, traffic engineering, land surveying, planning, and environmental consulting firm located in Slidell, Louisiana. J.V. Burkes, our founder, opened the doors of his civil engineering and land surveying company in 1964. J.V. Burkes and staff have faithfully served Southeast Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast since that time. Our company philosophy is to be a solution provider for our clients.
Our work spans generations. Now under the leadership of siblings Sean Burkes and Barbara Zelenka, the company continues its mission. Our civil design experience includes numerous commercial and residential developments, private and public design projects. Our survey knowledge is deep, having performed well over 40,000 land surveys that include single subdivision lots to 1000+ acre parcels as well as government retracements. We provide development planning for many of our clients from conception to construction. We are here to serve.
